Elizabeth Marilla Kapp, LMSW, MFA

Writing

Elizabeth is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she received an Iowa Arts Fellowship and an Alberta Metcalf Kelly Fellowship. She is also the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship. Her writing has appeared in Fjords, West Branch, The Saranac Review, The Offing, Oversound, Gulf Coast, and elsewhere.

Clinical Work

Elizabeth works as a clinician at a community mental health center. She specializes in support for young people and their parents and caregivers. She offers Child-Centered Play Therapy for youth ages 3-12, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy for adolescents and adults, and Individual Resiliency Training for First Episode Psychosis. Elizabeth also serves as a mental health first responder and a part-time children’s librarian.

Personal

Elizabeth is a member of the Prairie States Mushroom Club, a volunteer waitress at the Agape Café (free breakfast), a gardener with the Global Food Project, and a parent to two rowdy little kids.
